Solar Street Lights

Solar street lights are raised light sources which are powered by solar panels generally mounted on the lighting structure or integrated in the pole itself. The solar panels charge a rechargeable battery, which powers a fluorescent or LED lamp during the night. Most solar lights turn on and turn off automatically by sensing outdoor light using solar panel voltage. Solar streetlights are designed to work throughout the night.

Solar Water Pumps

A solar water pump system is essentially an electrical pump system in which the electricity is provided by one or several Photovoltaic (PV) panels. A typical solar powered pumping system consists of a solar panel array that powers an electric motor, which in turn powers a bore or surface pump. The water is often pumped from the ground or stream into a storage tank that provides a gravity feed, so energy storage is not needed for these systems.

Net Metering Systems

Net metering systems are grid tie systems that allow residential and commercial customers who generate their own electricity from solar power to feed surplus electricity into the grid. Any excess solar power that you generate is exported to the electricity grid and you usually get paid a feed-in-tariff (FIT) or credits for the energy you export.

Solar Grid Tie Systems

On-grid or grid-tie solar systems are by far the most common and widely used by homes and businesses. These systems do not need batteries and use grid tie inverters and are connected to the national grid.

Solar Hybrid Systems

Hybrid solar systems generate power from solar and power the load in the same way as a grid-tie solar system, but use batteries to store energy for later use. This ability to store energy enables most hybrid systems to also operate as a backup power supply during a blackout, similar to a UPS system.
